I suggest that you audition for other ensembles as a backup plan in case you do not make it into one of these ensembles this year.

Drew Morell has been a professional jazz pianist, bassist, guitarist and music educator in the Denver area for the last 20 years. Drew was the house bassist at the nationally renowned jazz club, El Chapultapec for three years. He has performed extensively with Ron Miles, Red Halloway, Nick Brignola, and Javon Jackson, and played as side man for many internationally respected jazz musicians including:

He has traveled with the Nelson Riddle and the Diahann Carroll Orchestras, and played in all the major jazz festivals in Colorado.
Drew is a professor at the University of Colorado at Denver, and owns his own music studio, Infinity Music. He's been recorded as a sideman on more than 20 CDs. Drew's most recent CD Talkin' (with the Bob Montgomery Quartet) has been getting frequent air play both nationally and internationally.
